On July 14, 2015, our understanding of the outer Solar System changed forever. That day, the American space probe New Horizons flew past the dwarf planet Pluto and its large moon, Charon—transforming our view of what was once thought to be a cold, dead world into that of a dynamic, geologically active system.Today’s presentation, led by NASA Solar System Ambassador Michael Greene, will trace the story of New Horizons—from its original concept to its groundbreaking discoveries in 2015—and share insights from the mission’s continuing journey.
Doors to the Planetarium will open at 1:45 p.m., and seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive at the Planetarium starting at 1:45 PM to ensure your spot in the theater. Our Planetarium has a maximum capacity of 64, and seating for this free talk will be first come, first served.
