About your host:
Emma Horswill is head gardener and farmer-florist at Earthenry Flower Farm. Eathenry is also a featured garden in the recently released 'Tasmanian Gardens' book by Authors Meg Bignall and Alice Bennett. Emma has been gardening for almost 30 years and has developed all the flower borders and cut flower fields at Earthenry from scratch. Emma has many years of plant knowledge and grows over 100 different cut flowers and foliage on her farm - from annuals through to perennial shrubs and trees. Drawing on a background of Fine Arts as well as her Horticulture training at the Royal Tasmanian Botanic Gardens, Emma approaches all her garden designs with creativity and seeking the right balance between aesthetics and practical management. Unique expression and authenticity of place are key design priorities. Emma also runs a small seasonal plant nursery and seed business at their organically grown flower farm and incorporates a science based approach that draws on permaculture, biodynamics, no-till and regenerative agriculture practices.
