Museum Windsor will be celebrating the opening of the new temporary exhibition, Beyond the Barrel: Windsor's Whisky History on Saturday, June 22, 2024.Sponsored by TWEPI, this event will be FREE from 10am-2pm, with the official opening of the exhibit taking place at 10:30am.
Guided tours for this exhibit will be available following the ribbon-cutting at 10:30am and later at 12:30pm.
This exhibit will showcase the history of the amber liquor and its connection to the Windsor-Essex area. Themes will include farming, early whisky production, the founding of local distilleries, the Prohibition Era in Windsor-Detroit, and the post-Prohibition whisky market. Through a collection of artifacts and photographs, visitors will travel through the history of whisky-making and leave with a craving for the golden elixir.
On display from June 22, 2024 - January 2025.
Located at the Chimczuk Museum at 401 Riverside Dr. W.
Limited free parking is available at the entrance of the museum off of Church Street. Paid parking ($5) is available on lots off of Bruce Ave between University and Riverside.
