About this Event
You're invited to the Net Impact Amsterdam member 'Impact Borrel'!

Grab your most sustainability-minded friend and come out for an evening of social connection at Instock. Tickets include two beers made from rescued potatoes and bread or soft drinks, vegetarian bar bites, and good company. All are welcome.

Instock is the place that put food waste on the map in Amsterdam

Its chefs create delicious meals with products that are available at that time, or better said: that are 'in stock'. Every week Instock saves about 2000 kilos of food by serving only what is in season or what would have been wasted.

Nearly one-third of all food production is wasted, and Instock is actively finding ways to avoid this. For example, that brown banana becomes banana ice cream and that imperfect sprout becomes kimchi. Instock gives life to wasted foods.

Something special to look forward to

Our ‘Impact Borrels’ are typically simple social gatherings and networking spaces for likeminded people (no formal programmes for the evening), however for this one we have a special treat.

Chloé Dorin, one of our Net Impact Amsterdam members, is taking part in the FutureFoodMaker programme funded by the EU and hosted by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

During the evening, her and some of her fellow participants will share the results of their project: Menu for Change.

With a mission to give young people their voice for the future, this programme, led by people aged 18-24, targets the food sector and calls for radical change to tackle access to healthy, sustainable and affordable food across the industry. This programme gives young people - our FutureFoodMakers - the chance to tell the sector what they want from the future of their food and the future of their food system.

The FutureFoodMakers will work together to produce a manifesto that will guide and influence future decision makers – including policy makers, food manufacturers, retailers and food sector stakeholders – on the future of the European food sector. This manifesto, known as the Menu for Change, will be presented to the food industry at the ‘Future of Food’ conference on 30 November 2021.

We’ll get a sneak preview!
