A new Couch to 5k group will be starting on Monday 19th January 2026We’d love to welcome brand new runners, lapsed runners, and any FLJs looking to get back on board.
As before, we will follow the tried and tested NHS Couch to 5k programme, which has been proved to work so well for everyone. It starts with just 60 seconds of running, combined with walking breaks.
We will meet as a group outside the Burning Embers fireplace shop, opposite the Hammerton Store on Great Western Road
The idea is to run three times a week - on Monday and Wednesday evening at 7pm and on Friday morning at 6am.
You don't have to attend each run, and if you download the app, then you can go out yourself some other time.
Everyone is welcome to join. There is no cost - you just need a desire to get moving in a friendly and easy environment. Speak to any of our current members, and they will convince you that you can be running 5k in just nine weeks.
