The New Boat Fitting Week is designed for those who want a crash course on the necessary woodworking knowledge and skills necessary to fit out a narrowboat shell or sailaway. The course is very “hands on” with 75% of the course being practical work on the tools. We have a wide range of different tools available so students can try alternate construction techniques and decide which one best matches their pocket and skill level. We concentrate on modern techniques rather than traditional woodworking methods as we have found that these are easier for beginners to master and get acceptable results.For full course content and other information see here Boat Fitting Week
Please note: This course is held in Steve’s workshop in Kettering and not at our classroom at Debdale
Because we know that a course like this is only the beginning of a self build we encourage students to contact their instructor afterwards when they are actually in the build if the have any questions or need advice.
This course is the first in our Boat Building suite of courses which include the Boat Electric Systems (Design and Installation) and Boat Plumbing Heating and Engine Installation
These course can be booked individually, however if you book two or more courses at the same time they attract a significant discount.
