In conjunction with the influx of sports science researchers flocking to Boston for the American College of Sports Medicine Annual Conference at the end of May, the New Balance Sports Research Lab is thrilled to invite you to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the advanced athletic performance research of its global brand.
Exclusive Lab Tours: Three 1-hours tours will be led by Jinger Gottschall, the Director of Sports Research at New Balance, and her team. Attendees will gain firsthand insight into the lab's innovative approaches to sports science.
Expert Interactions: Representatives from Qualisys, Treadmetrix, and AMTI - pivotal technology partners of the New Balance Sports Research Lab, will be available to discuss the latest advancements and applications of their technologies in the realm of athletic performance.
Foundational Research, Innovation, and Athlete Insight: Learn how the lab's core pillars shape product development to boost athlete performance and enhance the athletic experience. The New Balance Sport Research team will showcase their work, blending athlete performance science with product R&D.

The event will take place at the New Balance Sports Research Lab, located at 71 Guest Street, Boston, MA 02135.
From Boston Hynes Convention Center:
Transit: Take the Commuter Rail (Framingham/Worcester Line) train from Back Bay (145 Dartmouth St) to Boston Landing. The lab is a short walk from the station, approximately 10 minutes. Transit time is around 30 minutes. Lab tour times were planned based on arrival time at Boston Landing. Cost on mTicket app = $4.80.
Uber: An Uber or Lyft ride can take between 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic, with an estimated cost = $15-$25.
Upon arrival at 71 Guest St, please use the panel for entrance by pressing Gottschall. After the doors unlock, enter and use the elevator or stairs for access to the second floor. The Sports Research Lab will be on your left. After a short introduction to the space, attendees will be assigned to one of four different groups as they cycle through the stations of the tour, which includes the following spaces:
- Smash Lab (mechanical testing of foam and footwear)
- Run Lab (data collection magic with a combination of Qualisys and Treadmetrix equipment)
- Environmental Chamber (apparel testing to mimic any climate in the country)
- Field of Play Environments (testing in basketball, tennis, and tuft sports)
