What is National Rural Health Day?
National Rural Health Day (NRHD) celebrates the dedication of rural healthcare providers, State Offices of Rural Health, and other stakeholders in tackling the unique healthcare challenges faced by rural communities. This year, the spotlight is on the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and its significant role in supporting local rural physicians.
Event Highlights
This year we are proud to honor three outstqanding healthcare providers from rural Nevada, all of whom are recipients of the Nevada Health Service Corps. Their unwavering commitment to serving their patients and dedication to rural medicine truly makes a difference.

We are also thrilled to announce that Dr. Jed R. Hansen, Ph.D., APRN, FNPC, Executive Director of the Nebraska Rural Health Association, will be delivering a keynote speech titled, "I Love Rural Health".
About the Speaker
Jed Hansen, PhD, APRN, FNP-C, is the Nebraska Rural Health Association's Executive Director and serves as the Nebraska Hospital Association's senior rural consultant. Additionally, his academic background is focused on healthcare utilization facilitators and barriers in ambulatory care settings, and he actively practices in Urgent Care and Emergency Departments in rural Nebraska. He is a Fellow of the National Rural Health Association, the 2023 NRHA Advocate of the Year, and has been recognized as an influential healthcare executive and academic leader in Nebraska through the Nebraska Action Coalition and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, respectively.
The "I Love Rural Health" Campaign
The “I Love Rural Health” campaign started in Nebraska in 2021 in an effort to flip the script on the rural narrative of older, sicker, poorer. Fast forward three years later, and ILRH has established itself as a powerful campaign championing rural healthcare teams and communities. Learn about the campaign in Nebraska and how rural leaders in Nevada can create a unique platform highlighting the state’s unique and diverse rural organizations, communities, and people.
