Neutral Supervised Dog Walks S8 Sheffield

Relaxed neutral parallel dog walks designed for nervous and or reactive dogs. Maximum 3 dogs per group, all dogs MUST be on a long line.
About this Event

Our neutral parallel walks are designed to be a calm, safe walk for dogs to slowly build confidence at their own pace. These will be held once a month, we are located in S8 Sheffield. We will organise a WhatsApp group to arrange March's walks onwards.

What to expect:

We will all congregate at our car park where we will have a friendly safety briefing including long line techniques and basic body language learning. Humans will get chance to say hello to each other and we can talk through what to expect from the walk. Dog's must remain in the car for this.
Our walk will be a parallel walk on private land, where the distance between the dogs will be large at first with the aim of the gap being slowly shortened if the dogs are happy with this. There will be Rachel and myself Zara as a human buffer between each dog and there may also be a stooge dogs for some sessions.
The walk will last approximately 45mins depending on how the dogs are responding.
Finally we will gather back in the car park where we can discuss how the walk went and perhaps have a thermos of some kind of hot drink.

What do I need?
Your dog will need a long line, the longer the better. We suggest a soft line and we will talk through long line techniques in our briefing.
We highly recommend that all dogs are walked in a well fitted harness.
Poo bags.
Warm, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear- we will be outside, there will be mud. If you are using a waterproof line, we highly suggest some kind of glove.
What should I know before we come?
This is not a training exercise, this is designed for the dogs to be able to safely observe other dogs and walk at their own pace. Please do not use lures, be that food or toys or aversives for this walk. If you would like to bring a nice chew for after their walk, this would be fabulous.

Tickets are non-refundable, we donate any tickets that cannot be used to those who cannot usually afford these sessions. We will send directions to the car park a week before the first walk.
