About this Event
Meet other professionals in Toronto and grow your personal/professional network in 2022!
As I'm sure you know, growing your network is always important. And if you're like me, you're probably looking for events that:
- are a little more structured so it's not as awkward if you go alone or don't know many people
- focus more on the actual networking aspect (instead of a speaker or other activity)
- aren't full of attendees who are very "salesy" or just there to hand out business cards
- have more of a sense of community
That's why I started Toronto Impact Sessions (TIS) - an event with like-minded people that are looking to build genuine relationships with other motivated professionals.
So what's the difference?
When you purchase your ticket, you'll be asked to include your LinkedIn profile and a little more about yourself, including the types of people you want to meet. Before the event, we will carefully group you with 3 other people that will be great to include in your network (you'll see why in just a second...)
What is a mastermind and how does the event work?
The main portion of the event is a structured mastermind session for 1 hour. In that time, you will be sitting with your group of 4 and each member will have 15 minutes to tell the other 3 members who you are, what you do, what's going well for you and what you're struggling with or want some insight on from the rest of the group (don't worry, we'll give you more specific instructions before it starts).
This will give you (and every other member) time to go deeper into who you are and what you're here for, and allows you to get insight from 3 other people who may have been through your struggle, have something to suggest, or can bring a different perspective that you haven't thought about.
It's also a great way to make 3 friends quickly! And after the hour is up, everyone is free to stick around and chat further, connect with others or go on with their night.
Agenda:
7:00pm: check-in and casual networking (please note there are no sales at the door - make sure to get your ticket online if you want to attend)
7:30pm sharp: instructions are given, mastermind groups are formed and sessions begin (4x15 minutes, which will be timed so you know exactly when to switch - make sure to keep your elevator pitch crisp so you can get as much feedback from your group as possible!)
8:30pm: casual networking for anyone who wants to stick around, have some more snacks/drinks and hang out for a bit!
Note on timing: do not be late for the mastermind session, we recommend showing up by 7:15pm at the absolute latest!
Venue/food/drinks:
The event is hosted by The Legal Innovaton Zone, and we'll be using their awesome space to mingle and network. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
Tickets/Price:
The main purpose of the ticket price is to ensure commitment and attendance so we can divide up the mastermind groups ahead of the event to meet as many people's needs as possible. Note that if you do not purchase a ticket online, you will not be allowed in the event. It also covers the costs of the drinks/snacks.
Also note that there are only 48 tickets available - we prefer quality over quantity and want everyone to have plenty of space and a quieter environment to have genuine conversations.
Community Follow-up
As well, if you opt-in, you will receive an email the next day with the name and LinkedIn profile of every single person who attended (and opted-in) so you can add anyone you may have met or missed out on talking to.
