About this Event
Roll up, roll up! We’re taking you to Brighton’s original adventure park – whilst the coconut shies and merry go-rounds are long gone – Devil’s Dyke lives on to be loved by locals.
We’ll be congregating at The Devil’s Dyke pub before setting off. Whilst legend suggests that the Devil dug the valley for his own mischievous ways…scientists believe it was simply formed in the last Ice Age - a talking point for you as you make connections along the western route. (Also known as ‘the route without the mega hill’.)
This walk will be led by Chamber member Bonamy Wadell from Bon Insight – who’s recently returned down to earth (or at least sea level)following a six- day challenge walking up Kilimanjaro. The nine months of preparation meant discovering a lot of local
walking routes and we imagine breaking in a few pairs of walking boots. Together you’ll walk, talk and network as we explore the greener side of our beautiful city.
What to expect:
Make some new connections, new business friends, and watch the conversation flow as we walk and network at a relaxed pace.
We'll meet at The Devil’s Dyke pub and set of for a walk of approximately 90 minutes, interspersed with stops at points of interest, and a chance for you to swap walking companions as we go along. This walk is a loop, so we’ll end up where we started and finish at the pub with refreshments.
The team will arrange you into small groups to set off and will be on hand to help you move between conversations at regular moments throughout the walk – so you’ll get to meet plenty of people.
Chamber members tell us that there is something refreshing about walking side by side, getting to know people as you walk and talk. The conversation flows naturally and purposefully – with less small talk!

John Young, John Young Media joined our second netwalking session and said:
"Everything worked. It flowed, it was authentic, it was relaxed — skilfully led by Steve, with just the right amount of pausing and chances to mix it up. It was, truly, the best networking event I have been to since I first nervously stepped into it five years ago. "
