About this Event
Greetings! Thank you for your interest in participating in our Nettle cordage workshop & plant walk! We will enjoy storytelling, history, Indigenous foods, and our connection to the water.
Note from Fern Renville-
All are welcome to join us in learning from our teacher and elder HASBE, the stinging nettle plant who generously shares food, medicine, and fiber for weaving and net-making. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to nettle cordage-making and the ancestral weaving traditions of Dakota peoples interrupted by forced removal from the state of Minnesota. No experience necessary!
Please remember to dress comfortably and for the weather. We will be enjoying the outdoors. Don't forget to wear your walking shoes!
Please drive past the "marine" parking lot down into the "park" parking lot there you will see a pavilion .
We will plan to meet at the pavillion.
