This exhibition is built around the internationally renowned Violins of Hope project. Each violin in this moving collection of 24 restored instruments carries a deeply personal story paying tribute to the resilience of Jewish people who turned to music as a source of solace survival and defiance.
Join us for an unforgettable opening celebration with a special introduction by Rabbi Michel Twerski followed by a powerful performance from The Prometheus Trio. Resident at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music since 2000 The Prometheus Trio performs a blend of classical chamber music that both challenges and excites the musicians and audiences creating an extraordinary experience for all.
Featured violinist Emmy Tisdel Lohr cellist Scott Tisdel and pianist Stefanie Jacob will perform a repertoire recalling adversity faced by the Jewish people and honoring Judaism’s soulful strength and enduring light.
This program is presented in partnership with the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center and Ruach the Jewish arts and music organization serving Greater Milwaukee.
