About this Event
Join us for a backcountry ski tour in the Callaghan Valley hosted by Nerdy About Nature, aka Ross Reid. This intermediate-level tour combines a scenic day of skiing with an on-snow exploration of the alpine forests we travel through.
As we make our way uphill, we’ll take time to observe the mature alpine trees around us and discuss how climate change is reshaping mountain ecosystems. Expect thoughtful conversation along the skin track, time to take it all in over snacks and views, and a rewarding descent through beautiful, gladed terrain.
Please note: This is not a ski tour for beginners. Experience is required and having your AST1 is highly recommended. You will need all of your own ski/snowboarding touring gear as well as a beacon, shovel, and probe.
We will be meeting at the backcountry lot in the Whistler Olympic Park at 830am and will finishing the day no later than 430.
