Nerd Nite is a free monthly event that invites participants to give short, fun, and informative presentations on all kinds of topics while the audience enjoys a drink. Our passionate speakers will share their expertise and ideas on a variety of topics.
Each presentation will last between 15 and 20 minutes, followed by questions. A break between each presentation allows participants to refill their drinks and chat about the presented topics... or about something else entirely. Come meet new nerdy people !
To celebrate the month of love (in all its form, from Eros to Storge all all the other words that the old greeks had in store for this concept!) we will have a special evening on Saturday 7th.

🔥📚 Let’s Talk About (Healthier) Sex and Fanfiction
Much of how we think about sex as adults is shaped long before we’re sexually active. For many, that education didn’t come from school—but from fanfiction. This talk explores how online fanfiction platforms like AO3 influence ideas about desire, consent, relationships, and sexuality, for better or worse. By examining fanfiction as a cultural and educational space, it opens a conversation about how we learn about sex—and how we might learn it more healthily.
About the presenter : Camille is a student in sexual health at Sorbonne Université and a self-proclaimed fangirl since 2010. When not on Tumblr, Camille can usually be found writing fanfiction or playing D&D.
👩❤️💋👨📱Do we Date as Equals? A Feminist's Perspective on the Dating of Today
Is Having a Boyfriend Embarrassing Now? Why does dating feel so different today? Are we witnessing a “male loneliness epidemic”? And have we truly achieved gender equality in romantic relationships? This talk explores how dating norms have evolved over the decades and what they mean for modern relationships. Drawing on feminist literature and scientific studies, it offers context for current trends—going beyond social media takes—to better understand the frustrations, contradictions, and expectations shaping contemporary dating. This talk is for anyone who wants more to say after thinking or hearing: “Urgh, men.”
About the presenter : As an alternative to doom-scrolling, Victoria reads feminist and philosophical literature. She sometimes goes on dates, is not a fan of Valentine’s Day, but loves love.
🤖❤️🔥 AI: Artificial Intimacy
AI companions are entering our emotional lives, offering conversation, empathy, and a sense of connection. This talk explores how these systems fit into a longer history of “fake” or mediated relationships, from fictional characters to parasocial bonds. It examines both the risks and the potential benefits of AI companionship. Ultimately, it asks what these relationships reveal about how we define intimacy in the age of intelligent machines.
About the presenter : Laetitia holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Sorbonne Université. Passionate about knowledge sharing, she has a particular interest in building bridges between technological innovation and the social sciences.
