🪐✨ Celestial Mechanics 101: Rules of the Cosmos - By Eser Space Engineer / Orbital Wizard
We'll go on a cosmic ride through the world of celestial mechanics—a science that makes planets pirouette, satellites not fall on our heads, and the universe feel like one giant physics experiment. From ancient myths to groundbreaking discoveries, we’ll unravel the stories and equations that make space tick, and prove that understanding the cosmos isn’t rocket science (okay, maybe just a little). Buckle up to see how a simple equation rules the universe and why celestial mechanics is the coolest science. P.S. if you're hoping to find out why Mercury being in retrograde might ruin your day, this is the wrong place
🎶🇮🇳 The Structure to "Thought" - By Sudeepta Sakaar
India has a rich history of music that has accumulated influences through different eras of its history. Each part of India has its own musical expression, to tell its tale in its own unique way. In this talk, I will share a listener-turned-practitioner POV of one of the popular streams of North Indian Classical Music, called Khayāl, which literally means ‘thought’. Come join us where we listen to excerpts of music and analyze its structure, and try to understand how the erudite artists of Khayāl present this music extempore, sometimes for hours.
✨Discover the most energetic events in the universe ! - By Ludmilla Dirson
Astroparticle physics is a cutting-edge field at the intersection of astrophysics, particle physics, and cosmology. It seeks to answer some of the most profound questions about the Universe: What are the origins of cosmic rays? How do high-energy particles interact with matter and radiation in space? What can neutrinos, gamma rays, and gravitational waves reveal about extreme cosmic phenomena? By studying these "cosmic messengers," astroparticle physics provides unique insights into the most energetic and mysterious processes in the cosmos, from exploding stars to supermassive black holes and even the nature of dark matter. This multidisciplinary approach combines ground-based observatories, space missions, and theoretical models to uncover the hidden dynamics of our Universe.
Doors open : 18:30
