About the Speakers:
Prajwal Raj Gyawali is a practicing advocate where he looks at matters of legal education, medical negligence and other civil and criminal litigation. He did his BA LLB (hons) from NALSAR University of Law and went on to do the European Master’s in Law and Economics. With over six years of international work experience he has worked with India’s largest private sector bank, ICICI Bank and the Ministry of Finance of the Government of Uganda as an Oxford Policy Fellow. He has been a faculty of law at various law schools in Nepal, and currently runs his law firm – Law Lab Nepal. He also advises various local governments for policy intervention. Prajwal led Nepal Bar Association’s research in identifying the problems of young lawyers in the country.
Dr. Sanju Adhikary, currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Kathmandu University School of Law. She completed her Ph.D. in Economics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where she developed a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied economic research. Since the beginning of her academic career in 2015, she has been committed to teaching, research, and scholarly engagement. Her primary research interests include financial economics, social economics, and the intersection of economics and law. She is particularly driven by a desire to understand better and address the complex socio-economic challenges facing developing countries. Her scholarly work reflects this commitment, and she has published in peer-reviewed journals in these thematic areas. She is keen to contribute to interdisciplinary research and policy dialogue that bridges economics with legal and institutional frameworks.
Samman Humagain is a Kathmandu-based litigation lawyer specializing in commercial and civil disputes at various courts in Kathmandu. In addition to his legal practice, he is actively involved in legal research and policy analysis. He maintains a strong academic interest in the legal history of Nepal and has been the primary researcher for the Kanoon Yatra Podcast.
