About this Event
NEGRO IMPACTO & FRIENDS is going on a mini Irish tour this summer, with an exciting lineup of artists curated by Chi-chi and Laurence themselves. The tour will see Negro Impacto bringing their renowned live show on the road to Limerick, Dundalk and Dublin, with their full band, brand new music and special guests.
NEGRO IMPACTO BIO:
Negro Impacto are an Irish duo comprising of vocalist-songwriter Chi-chi and producer, multi-instrumentalist Laurence (aka StrangeLove). Quickly making waves in the Irish music scene, they garnered attention for their distinctive alternative RnB sound, remarkable musicianship, and lively performances with full band. The duo has successfully sold out both editions of 'Negro Impacto & Friends’, graced stages at renowned festivals such as Primavera Pro, Other Voices, Ireland Music Week, Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit and All Together Now. They've also opened for notable artists like Madness, Ojerime, Denise Chaila, and The Mary Wallopers. Highlighted as part of the 'RTE 2FM Rising' class of 2023, they also emerged as finalists in 'A New Local Hero 2023', just some of the incredible achievements for such a young band. This summer sees their first NEGRO IMPACTO & FRIENDS tour, festival slots at All Together Now, Macalla (Wicklow’s newest festival) and more dates TBA.
HOTGIRL BIO:
Drogheda/Dublin based band hotgirl began as the bedroom project of singer/songwriter Ashley Abbedeen, when she threw a lofi, trip-hop style demo of hotgirl’s first single ‘Jam’ on Soundcloud in July 2021, with great reception from friends and college peers. Wanting to put a band together, she posted an Instagram call-out which caught the attention of guitarist Sophie Boxwell, who eventually auditioned successfully for the band. Drummer Nick Stanley (aka Muttonhead) and bassist Jake Hurley (aka Local Boy) later entered the mix after stumbling across Jam on Soundcloud. Since the addition of her fellow bandmates, the music evolved from its humble lofi, DIY style origins into a full soundscape of noisy, melodic dissonance that has come to define the band’s sound. With Boxwell offering angular lead lines, Hurley bringing chromatic crunch on bass, and Stanley adding impressive punchy backbeats, hotgirl’s unique and distinctive sound is what separates them from other bands.
CREDENCE BIO:
Hailing from Dundalk, Ireland, Credence’s relationship with music first began at the young age of 9 when he began learning how to play the drums. Fast forward 7 years later, he began songwriting and released his first ever solo single “My Heart”, having released previous singles with his music group, DBA. Various musical artists have helped shape Credence’s clean & melodic sound. A versatile and unique artist ready to take that next step in his musical career and showcase his talent to the world.
GOOD COMPANY:
Good Company are a collaborative group of freelance beatmakers, dj's and live lyricists hailing from the North-East whom produce music inspired by garage and jungle. Having released their summer-tinged Garage influenced singles “Empty Room” and “On & On”, they are ones to watch in the coming months as they look to build on their run of new music as well as present a live element to the project.
