About this Event
For our first book of the year, we're starting off strong with Waubgeshig Rice's Moon of the Turning Leaves. This is the follow up book to (but don't worry, you don't have to read the first book!).
Moon of the Turning Leaves takes place 12 years after the events of Crusted Snow, and like its predecessor, is a story of survival - a mix of humor and horror. Evan, and his community, have created a new settlement wherein traditions and lives lived on the land have been rekindled. However, resources are beginning to dwindle. Should they begin moving with the seasons? Or should they return to their ancestral home on Lake Huron? Evan, his fifteen-year-old daughter Nangohns, and a few others form a group to find that place, learning stories of what happened when the world ended and the threats that exist outside the bush.
