Classmates,This is a message that I would prefer to have not sent. We currently have 60 tickets sold to our reunion which is right around the corner. We have used every method that we know to get the word out and I’m very concerned about the attendance. So I am requesting several things.
1) If you have seen the notice of the October 4 reunion and have just been waiting to buy tickets, please, go ahead and make your purchases. The income from the sales funds any perks we can provide to make the evening more special
2) Please take time to spread the word widely with our classmates that you are in contact with and also consider extending an invitation to the class of 74 and 76 and we all had a lot of great relationships with.
3) Three of you volunteered to reach out to a list of classmates, which I forwarded to them. If anyone else would be willing to do that it will certainly lighten the load for the organizers and hopefully get the word out to people who may not have seen the notice. If any others of you would consider assisting in contacting a few of our classmates I can get information out to you. Bear n mind we are working from a very dated Broughton alumni association list. That has hampered all the reunion organizing in past years. Our alumni association is now trying to get updated information from everyone. More on that later.
4) If anyone has any novel or out of the box ideas how to spread the word please pass them along to me.
We plan to press on and look forward to seeing those who have purchased their tickets and hopefully to see those who will purchase their tickets soon. If you care to assist, I would be glad to send a list of maybe 15 or 20 names to you with their contact information such as it is . You can reach me on Facebook messenger and I will reply promptly. I am posting the event link in addition to the hotel link below which can easily be copied and pasted to share with anyone you reach out to.
