Location: YDL-SuperiorQualifying individuals can get a free phone and SIM card! As part of YDL's Library Care Coordination program, a representative from GenMobile is offering free phones and SIM cards to eligible members of the community on Tuesdays through November 25, 2025.
Dates: Tuesdays, Oct 28 and Nov 4, 18, & 25
Times:
- YDL-Michigan: 10am-1pm
- YDL-Superior: 5-7pm
Please Note:
- Services are not available on library holidays.
- First-time GenMobile users receive a free phone and SIM card.
- Supplies are limited; receiving a ticket to mark your spot in line after checking in or attending does not guarantee a phone.
To qualify, please bring:
1) Proof of Benefits or Income (bring one):
- DHHS benefit letter
- Social Security Income (SSI) or Disability award letter
- Section 8 / Housing Choice Voucher paperwork
- Veterans Pension letter
- Proof of income under $28,000 annually (e.g., last year’s W-2 or other income verification)
2) Valid Photo ID (no photocopies):
- Driver’s License
- State ID
- County ID
- Passport
