Ned Ferm and AC (Anders Christensen) have shared a deep musical partnership since 2001, performing, recording, and teaching together across more than two decades. Their collaboration has resulted in numerous album appearances, extensive international touring, and the co-creation of a wide-ranging body of original music. Ned Ferm (b. 1982) is an award-winning American multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and educator based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Known for his expressive saxophone playing and singing, he has developed a musical language that spans jazz, roots, rock, pop, and improvisation.
Raised on a farm on a small island off the coast of Maine, USA, Ferm moved to Copenhagen in 2001 to study at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory, becoming its first American student. He earned three degrees from the institution and now performs and teaches internationally, including in Europe, North America, and Asia.
Ferm has contributed to hundreds of recordings, including many as a leader and co-leader. He has collaborated with artists across genres and generations, including Yusef Lateef, Billy Taylor, Roswell Rudd, Harold Mabern, Airto Moreira, Kenny Wollesen, Tyshawn Sorey, Mark Guiliana, Sam Barsh, Thomas Morgan, MØ, Iceage, Kimbra, and producers John Parish and Mark Howard. In 2021, he received the Bent Jædig Award.
Anders Christensen
Anders Christensen (b. 1972) is a Danish bassist, composer, producer, and organizer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Over more than three decades, he has developed a distinctive voice as a bassist, composer, and collaborator across jazz, rock, and pop.
Christensen has toured extensively in Denmark and internationally, performing with artists including Paul Motian, Tomasz Stańko, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jakob Bro, Joe Lovano, Brian Blade, Lee Konitz, and Thomas Morgan. He is also known for his work with bands such as The Raveonettes, Sort Sol, and The Savage Rose.
He has contributed to more than 200 albums as a performer, composer, and producer, and has worked closely with artists including Kira Skov, Nikolaj Nørlund, Mette Lindberg, and Caroline Henderson, for whom he produced the albums No. 8 and Keeper of the Flame.
Christensen was a member of the Paul Motian Electric Bebop Band from 1999 to 2004 and of Tomasz Stańko’s band from 2008 to 2014. His solo album Dear Someone (2009), featuring Paul Motian and Aaron Parks, reflects his work as a bandleader.
Alongside his performing and recording work, Christensen is active as a curator and organizer. He served as artistic director of Summer Session at Krogerup Folk High School from 2013 to 2025 and has led the development of Summer Session China since 2018.
He has received multiple Danish Music Awards and the Ben Webster Prize (2021). In 2025, he was awarded Jazz Musician of the Year for the album Soundflower with Jesper Zeuthen and Marilyn Mazur.
