The neck, shoulders, chest, and arms are deeply connected to how we breathe, orient ourselves, reach into the world, and respond to effort. Many of us carry unnecessary tension in this area without noticing it. Over time, habits of holding in the shoulders, stiffness in the neck, or excessive effort in the arms can affect breathing, mobility, posture, and overall ease of movement.
In this workshop, we will explore the relationship between the head, spine, ribs, shoulders, and arms through the Feldenkrais Method.
Through gentle movement lessons and guided attention, participants are invited to investigate:
– how breathing influences movement
– the coordination between neck, shoulders, and arms
– reducing unnecessary muscular effort
– mobility and support in the shoulder girdle
– reaching and moving with greater ease
– the connection between awareness and freedom of action
Rather than stretching or forcing the body, the workshop proposes a process of observation, differentiation, and discovery through movement.
As coordination becomes clearer, movement can become lighter, more efficient, and more comfortable.
Releasing Unnecessary Effort.
