Join us for a special screening of Mending the Broken Pieces. This compelling documentary details how a small, local grassroots relief movement emerged in the early 1990s in the Upper Midwest. In response to Hurricane Katrina, the organization spent two years clearing debris and rebuilding homes in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward, which opened the path for NECHAMA to become the nation’s only Jewish disaster response organization. For a sneak peek, click here to watch the trailer.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion with key NECHAMA staff members, sharing their insights on this incredible organization, their firsthand experiences responding to recent natural disasters, and how NECHAMA has become an important tool for the Jewish community in combating antisemitism.
This is an in-person and virtual event.
