About this Event

The festive fun begins this year when NE1’s much-loved Search for Santa returns on Saturday 29th November. From 9am, families are invited to join this magical Christmas trail throughout the city, following clues and taking part in seasonal activities along the way as we search for Santa Claus himself.

The route begins at The Gate, where you check in at the Search for Santa desk, on the Ground Floor to the left of the escelators, before winding through some of Newcastle’s best-known landmarks. From Old Eldon Square to John Lewis, then on to the Northumberland Street entrance of Eldon Square and Fenwick, each stop brings families closer to the Christmas magic. The adventure continues to the City Library, where children can take a break for a festive craft activity, before heading on to Monument, the Theatre Royal, and the Cathedral. The journey finishes at The Common Room, where the excitement builds to a joyful finale.

Covering a total distance of around 1.3 kilometres (just under a mile), the trail is perfect for little legs and big imaginations. Only children require tickets for this event, please select your arrival time slot via the ticket name (please note there are only 20 children tickets available per timeslot). Please book no more than 4 tickets per family.
