About this Event
An annual initiative of National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), NDBN Lobby Days brings together diaper bank leaders and child poverty advocates from around the country to call for federal policies and funding to end diaper need in the U.S. and ensure all people have access to the material basic necessities they require to thrive.
The two-day event provides the diaper bank community with the opportunity to learn and train with advocacy experts, network with fellow leaders and engage with legislators and their staff during meetings scheduled by NDBN staff.
We’ve heard that some diaper bank leaders, while excited about NDBN Lobby Days, think that they cannot participate because their organization is recognized as a 501(c)(3).
Fear not! Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations can both advocate and lobby. (You can learn more about advocacy vs. lobbying here.)
Event Registration Details
An early-bird registration fee of $55 per attendee is available through Tuesday, February 20, 2024. Subsequently, the general registration fee is $85 per attendee up through Friday, March 22, 2024, unless the event capacity is met prior to that date.
Registration includes:
- Comprehensive advocacy training led by national policy experts
- Light refreshments during training day activities
- Meeting materials
- NDBN Lobby Days 2024 custom t-shirt
- Training webinar prior to travel to D.C.
- Invitation to private diaper bank leaders reception*
- A full schedule of Capitol Hill meetings arranged by NDBN on your behalf
- Transportation to the private reception and to Capitol Hill Day activities**
*Early registration is highly encouraged due to the limited capacity of the private diaper bank leaders reception. Reservations will be prioritized based on date of registration, and once the capacity is reached, attendees will be placed on a wait list. Registering early will help reserve your spot at the reception.
** Transportation will be provided from the Hilton Garden Inn to the private diaper bank leaders reception (4.9.24) for those attendees with confirmed tickets. Transportation will be provided from the Hilton Garden Inn to Capitol Hill (4.10.24) for attendees that are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. All other transportation is the responsibility of the attendee.
The deadline for registration deadline is Friday, March 22, 2024. Registration must be confirmed by this date to allow NDBN adequate time to schedule Capitol Hill meetings.
Hotel Accommodations
The Hilton Garden Inn - Washington DC/U.S. Capitol is the preferred hotel for NDBN Lobby Days 2024. A limited number of rooms, at a special room rate, are available for attendees to reserve on their own. Conveniently located at 1225 First Street NE, Washington, DC., the hotel will host the Lobby Day training on Day 1.
To book a room at the Hilton Garden Inn, please use this link. The room rate includes free breakfast, complimentary wi-fi, and is refundable. The room block is available from April 8th to April 10th, but you can book whichever nights you need during that time frame.
