Northern Caribbean University International Development Foundation (NCUIDF) is a 501(c)(3) organization, working on behalf of its namesake - a visionary tertiary institution serving the needs of underserved students in Jamaica, the Caribbean, and beyond.
From its inception in 1907, Northern Caribbean University (NCU) provides opportunities for students with ability but little or no resource to access tertiary education. Through well-designed initiatives, students work part-time in industries managed by the school and earn the funds to pay their tuition and housing. Thousands of young Jamaicans have acquired an education and gone on to serve Jamaica and the world because of NCU’s pioneering approach to equitable education and opportunities.
NCU continues primarily to serve the same cohort – those with the ability but lacking the resources – and it has grown exponentially over the years. To support its mission, NCU needs a revolving pool of funds to provide robust information technology, replace aging infrastructure with state-of-the-art climate friendly labs, classrooms, and other facilities, equipped to meet the needs of 21st century learners as well as hire expert faculty and staff to train and support our students.
