This NCBCC event is open to all breeds, but Bearded Collies have priority until COB on January 15. There are 10 working spots available. No observers will be allowed, due to COVID restrictions. Nosework is a very fun activity for dogs and handlers. It is inspired by working detection dogs. Dogs will enjoy scenting and searching and putting their keen sense of smell to work! Nosework is a light physical activity that can be a good extracurricular activity for pets, agility, and obedience dogs. On top of that, the activity is lots of fun for both handlers and dogs!Who: All breeds, but Beardies have preference until COB on Jan. 15. (Other breed entries may be submitted before that date, but will not be processed until Jan. 15.)
What: Nosework seminar taught by Karen Allen, experienced nosework teacher, holding multiple titles in nosework (and tons of titles in other venues as well)
Where: Indoor facilities of A Click Above (ACA), at 10277 Evergreen Mills Rd. Leesburg, VA 20175
When: Saturday, Jan. 30, 1:30 PM, lasting about 2 hours
Bring:
A lead AT LEAST 6 ft long, preferably longer. NO FLEXIS though.
Plenty of treats that your dog really likes; stinky ones best.
A hungry dog.
During the introduction by the instructor, enter the building without your dog, and wearing a mask. Please use masks and social distancing inside & outside the building at all times. After the intro, you will come in in your assigned running order, and only 1 person in the building per dog. No more than 3 handlers at a time (on deck, next team, and team exiting).
