This is a state-mandated firearms training course required for residents to apply for a concealed carry permit. The 8-hour minimum course includes classroom instruction on NC laws, firearm safety, and use of deadly force, plus a live-fire shooting proficiency test. After completing the course, you receive a certificate and can then apply for your permit with your local county sheriff's office. COST: $75
