The NBVA is hosting a King of the Court style tournament for all players!The day will be full of action and plenty of fun! Come play in your division and then bring your esky and stay to cheer on your mates as they try to claim the crown of King/Queen of the Court!
Depending on registration numbers, we plan to have two divisions each for both men and women.
Open to all, but must have VBNSW Membership.

We will post the exact start times for each division on Friday, but anticipate them to be:
Men's Division 2- 8:00-9:30
Men's Division 1- 10:00-11:30
Women's Division 2- 12:00-1:30
Women's Division 1- 2:00-3:30
This tournament is for fun, and will not impact NBVA seeding points.
Format/Rules
- 5 teams per court
- Play will take place for approximately 1.5-2 hours per session depending on total number of registered teams.
- Each division will be made up of 6-8 sessions of roughly 15 min each. At the end of each 15 minute session, the top two teams move up a court, bottom two teams move down a court
- Best of 1 point, next team in line serves as soon as point is over
- Points are awarded only for winning the point on the King side
- Missed serves do not count as a point for the King side, but the serving team loses their turns
- Servers must alternate turns
Serving side is the north side. (King side is south)
- Self-refereed games. If there is a dispute, it is an automatic replay in order to keep the game moving
- Starting courts will be assigned by order of point standard NBVA court ranking
- Points to be kept track of by players on the honor system. It is suggested that each time a point is won, the team’s calls out to the court how many points they have.
- Play is expected to be fast paced...ie: jogging to other side of the court, teams ready to serve as soon as points are over
- If the next team in line is not ready, their turn may be skipped…for this reason the suggestion is to have players ready at both the net (blockers) and at the baseline (servers)
- Prizes will be awarded to the “King/Queen” of the court based on points scored at the highest level court during only the last 15 minute session.
Cost: $30 per team
Registration will be open on Sunday the 17th and close Thursday the 21st at 12pm.
