About this Event
Dear Colleagues,
We do hope this finds you safe and well. We write to bring you up to date with our plans for the Annual Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 11, and Friday, Nov. 12.
We do our best work when we can meet, deliberate, and find consensus in person, and we plan to continue that tradition this year. Jamie Sprayregen has generously made Kirkland’s office in Washington available to us. It is located at 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20004.
We shall have a full and most interesting meeting this year, thanks in large part to the extraordinary work on individual debtor reform that Michelle Harner and the various working groups have done over the summer.
The schedule will be as follows with the executive meeting to be scheduled separately:
• Thursday, November 11, 9 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (continental breakfast available at 8:30 a.m.)
• Thursday, November 11, 6:00 p.m.-9:00 pm. reception and dinner at Hyatt Regency
• Friday, November 12, 9-12 (continental breakfast available at 8:30 a.m., no lunch provided)
We have a block of rooms at the D.C. Hyatt Regency, 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20001, rate of $259/night. Call hotel for reservations at 202-737-1234 by October 20 and ask for the “National Bankruptcy Conference” block of rooms.
The pandemic is, of course, not over. Because some conferees will not feel safe travelling, we shall provide them with the ability to participate remotely. Shari has gained experience handling the logistics of hybrid meetings, and we hope that those who are unable to travel will still be able to engage actively in the Conference’s deliberations. Only those who are fully vaccinated should attend in person, and we must all comply with the masking, social distancing, and other rules Kirkland has in place.
Please click here the "ticket" above to to register for the annual meeting at your earliest convenience for our planning. Notwithstanding the additional audio/visual costs this year of providing the remote option, our financial condition happily allows us to retain the same registration fee as in past years for all those attending, whether in person or remotely.
We must recognize, of course, that as conditions on the ground change, we may have to change our plans as well. We are grateful for your continuing patience. We shall send out a link the week before the meeting as well as the agenda and final materials.
Thank you,
Douglas and Ricky
