Christmas crafting and wild trail wandering!
About this Event

Burn off some energy with our wildlife-themed trail, which will take you over the wild and windswept Naze. Claim your trail prize, then cozy up in our coastal centre, where our workshop will be in full swing. Use hand tools and natural materials to create some festive crafts to take home. Why not make an outing of it and bring the whole family - we'll have a special shopping event with a discount running in our shop and festive treats in the cafe too. Please note that children must be supervised by an adult at all times.

FAQs

📍Where do we meet?

Find our friendly Wilder Learning team inside the Naze Nature Discovery Centre.

🥾What should we wear?

In winter, we suggest warm layers that you don't mind getting mucky. Year-round, bring a coat that will keep the wind out.  Boots and waterproofs are a good idea if rain is forecast. For beach activities, please bring old trainers, Wellington boots, or water shoes. Footwear will get wet and mucky on the beach.

🌍Where are you based?

We are located just north of Walton on the Naze, a coastal town in North Essex.

🚗Is there parking?

Yes, charges apply for the car park, which is managed by Tendring District Council.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport?

We are a five-minute walk from the end of the line for Route 7 Konectbuses in Essex and Suffolk. The train station is approximately 1.5 miles walk along the seafront.

🚻Are there toilets?

Toilets are located inside the visitor centre.

☕Is there a Cafe or shop?

The visitor centre has a shop and a café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream, and light lunches.

🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog?

No dogs at our events, please (except assistance dogs)

♿ Is it wheelchair accessible?

The Naze is an area of relatively flat grassland with short mown grass paths and may be suitable for some wheelchairs. The beach is not accessible as access is via steep stairs.
