Come join us at Kadena Marina for an introduction to dragon boating! Start out the new year by trying a new sport and taking on an ultimate Okinawa adventure!
Absolutely NO EXPERIENCE is necessary—that’s what these paddle clinics are designed for! You'll learn a little about our team and get your toes wet (figuratively and literally!) in a hands-on introduction to the sport of dragon boat racing in Okinawa!
Open to all women 18+ with ANY DoD/DoDEA affiliation! If you are looking to experience Okinawa in a once in a lifetime way, check us out! You'll get an incredibly unique glance at Okinawa's culture while making friends with your fellow teammates, and getting a great workout in! These clinics are standalone, so they do not build on each other. We work on the same things each time. Come to all or some for a chance to build strength, learn technique and get individualized feedback.
What you should bring to the clinic:
- A water bottle
- Sturdy water shoes (felt-bottoms or hard-soled sandals like Chacos are preferred to protect from potential critters in the Marina) or tennis shoes you don't mind getting wet
- Wear pants or shorts you don't mind getting wet (most ladies wear leggings)
- A towel to dry off with afterwards
- Optional: Gardening or work gloves with grips to help grip the paddles
- A great attitude to learn and have fun!!
