LJ Hernandez
LJ Hernandez is an emerging visual artist currently based in Calgary, Alberta, originally hailing from Quezon Province, Philippines. Her artistic practice is primarily focused on painting, serving as a visual exploration of childhood memories, nostalgia, and the formation of early identity. Also actively exploring sculpture and other mixed media to build layered and spatially-aware works that translate my personal journey.
Laureat Nkinzo
As a child, Laureat Nkinzo’s mom nicknamed him “Teletoon Imagine,” after the TV station, because of his obsession with cartoons. Now, the Alberta based artist’s work spans collage, photography, painting and sculpture, while drawing heavily from the visual language and style of that early influence. He combines this with an interest in the shapes, colours and ideals of African architecture, sculpture and furniture building. Using his work as a way to connect with, and connect others to, his heritage. Nkinzo aims to push back on the erasure and undervaluing of African craft and stories by sharing both. And articulate the experience of migration, colonialism, and living under capitalism through visuals for those like him who struggle to do that with words. He believes creativity can be therapeutic and transformative. Alongside his own work, he also finds fulfillment in facilitating workshops and creating spaces where others can experience the same joy and healing he finds through art.

"Music has always been my lifeline. From the moment I first picked up the violin as a child to traveling across the world connecting with communities through song, music has been my tool for healing, connection, and self-discovery. Navjeevan is more than an album — it is the culmination of years of living, learning, and daring to create a life rooted in love, courage, and freedom.Navjeevan blends R&B, jazz, hip hop, and classical influences, drawing inspiration from my lived experiences as an artist, traveler, and social worker."
