Meet Your Guide: Laura Marsh

Laura Marsh (b. 1982, Binghamton, NY) is a Miami-based textile artist with a flair for embroidered stories of social and class topics through fabric and text. A graduate of Yale University School of Art (MFA) and the Cleveland Institute of Art (BFA), Marsh has exhibited her work in prestigious venues such as The Whitney Museum of American Art, Printed Matter, Locust Projects, and Dot Fiftyone Gallery.

Her solo exhibitions, including Unsolicited Advice (2023) and Knots Hold Intentionality (2022), spotlight her poetic musings and collaborations with iconic feminist and labor voices. Her art resides in collections such as those of Francie Bishop Good, Dennis and Debra Scholl, and Mindy and Michael Solomon. Marsh has also been a resident artist at Oolite Arts, Mana Contemporary, and the Siena Art Institute.

She works with artist and art institution clients to prepare grants and budgets, and she files both business and personal taxes every year while taking an active role in her own bookkeeping.
