Ambassador Alina Romanowski brings over 40 years of public service across the State Department, Defense Department, intelligence community, USAID, and international development. She most recently served as U.S. Ambassador to Iraq and Kuwait during pivotal periods of regional change. Her career has included senior roles in counterterrorism, educational and cultural affairs, Middle East partnerships, and strategic studies, earning her numerous awards including a Presidential Distinguished Rank Award. She holds both an M.A. and B.A. from the University of Chicago and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
