About this Event
Join SFC Stortford for a free event for parents and educators on Thursday 3rd March, featuring candid stories from parents and educators, practical tools you can start using straight away, and the chance to swap ideas with people who truly get it.
This event isn’t about banning technology or judging families - it’s about thoughtful, age-appropriate use and supporting children to thrive both online and offline.
Whether your child is asking for their first phone or already glued to a screen, you’ll leave feeling empowered, supported, and less alone. Expect laughter, relief, and more than a few “aha” moments.
Warm snacks, expert guidance, and a welcoming community await - let’s navigate this digital world together.
Free to attend for parents and educators. Children are welcome.
18:30 - 19:00 Doors open
19:00 - 20:00 Panel discussion
20:00 - 21:00 Audience discussions and breakout sessions (optional)
SFC Stortford is a group of local parent volunteers - including qualified teachers and medical professionals - with children in local primary and secondary schools. We are working to gently change the culture around children and smartphones, in line with the vision of the national Smartphone-Free Childhood campaign: supporting families to delay smartphones and create healthier, more balanced childhoods. We are very grateful to The Bishop’s Stortford High School for the use of their venue for this event, and to local teenagers who are generously helping us with the marketing and promotion.
