Join Fresh Arts and the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) for an insightful panel discussion and resource-sharing event tailored for artists interested in residency opportunities and the application process.In this engaging session, panelists will review and provide feedback on mock residency submissions, sharing their insights and reasoning behind selection decisions. Representatives from Dance Source Houston, Galveston Artist Residency, Project Row Houses, Fresh Arts, and HCCC will also present their residency programs.
Attendees will have the chance to participate in a Q&A session to ask questions and seek guidance on the application process and program expectations.
This event offers a valuable opportunity to gain expert insights and practical advice on navigating residency applications and understanding different program offerings. It is hosted in conjunction with Fresh Arts’ Space Taking Artist Residency (STAR), with applications opening in September, and HCCC’s Artist Residency program, which will open for applications in December 2024.
Refreshments in the HCCC lobby begin at 5:30 PM, and the panel begins at 6:00 PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore HCCC’s artist studios before the panel begins. This is a free event with registration.
