The Greater Prince William Human Trafficking Taskforce invites service providers, advocates, law enforcement, government partners, and community stakeholders to attend a professional symposium focused on current trends in human trafficking response, prevention, and emerging legal developments.
The symposium will highlight the growing risk of child sex trafficking among runaway and missing youth—particularly those involved in child welfare—and the critical role frontline professionals play in prevention, intervention, and recovery. Participants will learn about National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) resources that support online safety education, trauma-informed response, survivor engagement, and proactive recovery planning when youth go missing.
A separate session will provide an overview of new and emerging Virginia laws related to human trafficking and their implications for multidisciplinary practice.
