Navigating Decarbonization in California: People-Centered Pathways for Sustainable Workforce Development
As momentum and widespread support increase for decarbonizing solutions for buildings and communities, so has the demand for high-road jobs to facilitate the implementation of these solutions. USGBC California invites you to an interactive afternoon with industry experts, state and local public representatives, academics, environmental organizations, workforce development nonprofits, and others on how to create human-centered pathways for regional sustainable workforce development focused on decarbonizing buildings and communities.
This workshop deep-dive will be split into several parts:
- Introductions & Vision for Statewide Collaboration (10 mins)
- An introduction on the landscape of building/neighborhood decarbonization & workforce development in California (15 mins)
- An open discussion panel “How Do We Create a People Centered Green Building Workforce for a Decarbonized Future?” featuring several case studies (60 mins)
- Break (10 mins)
- Interactive small group discussions on regenerative ideas that consider a regional, multi-sector approach to market transformation (60 mins)
- Recap on ideas from small group discussions (10 mins)
