Navigating Credit Card Payments

PCI compliance, or payment card industry compliance, refers to a set of 12 security standards that businesses must use when accepting credit card payments and transmitting, processing and storing the related data. It involves requirements such as encryption of cardholder data, managing firewalls, updating antivirus software and assigning unique IDs to each person with computer access.

Christopher Bulin, founder of BlueOwl and Guardian, will present an overview of understanding your business needs, choosing the right payment processor, negotiating terms and fees, and implementing payment solutions. Lunch will be catered by Fino's.

About Your Presenter: Christopher Bulin
Christopher Bulin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He started in the Payments industry about 20 years ago. Bulin moved to Olive branch, Mississippi where he continued in the Payments industry, joined a local BNI chapter and became a top producer of referrals. During the pandemic, he launched his first reseller company to help businesses meet requirements of PCI, a payment industry compliance framework. A year later his company was acquired. He then launched Proven PCI which went through Co.Starters, Innovation Labs, and won 2nd in the Next Big Thing competition 2 years ago. Proven PCI just had their soft launch of a more secure checkout solution called Guardian. In 2024, in partnership with one of his advisors, Bulin launched BlueOwl Technologies, a payments and point of sale provider.
