About this Event

With distinctive illustrations and charming stories, Inspired by Cats is the perfect gift for readers, writers, and anyone who knows that the best creative partners have four legs and a talent for keeping their humans on task.

Writers and cats have always shared a quiet understanding. Both thrive in solitude and prefer to be left alone (until they don’t). In Inspired by Cats, author-illustrator duo Nava Atlas and Bob Eckstein honor this timeless companionship with a clever and visually rich collection that profiles 60 beloved authors and the cats who kept them company along the way.

Nava Atlas is the author of many vegan cookbooks as well as visual nonfiction, including The Literary Ladies’ Guide to the Writing Life and its companion archive, LiteraryLadiesGuide.com. She lives andworks in the Hudson Valley region of New York.

Bob Eckstein is an award-winning illustrator, writer, and cartoonist. He is the author of Footnotes from the World’s Greatest Bookstores, The Complete Book of Cat Names, The History of the Snowman, The Ultimate Cartoon Book, and more.
