From the fertilizers you apply to the water you use, your gardening choices can have an impact on land, water, wildlife, and the overall well-being of Florida’s residents. This presentation will teach how to have healthy and beautiful landscapes that protect Florida’s natural resources by following nine science-based principles.Jennifer Pelham is the County Extension Director and the Urban Horticulture Agent IV for the University of Florida IFAS Extension Martin County. Jennifer provides programs to the public on garden and landscape principles that promote Florida Friendly Landscaping practices and coordinates the Florida Master Gardener Volunteer Program in Martin County. Jennifer is a certified instructor of the Green Industry Best Management Practices and a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. Jennifer has her Bachelor of Science from the Pennsylvania State University and two master degrees from the University of Florida, including one in Pest Management. She’s worked in Extension for over 23 years with the University of Florida in Osceola, Orange, and Martin Counties and the University of California in San Diego and Orange Counties
