About this Event
This day retreat is designed to support healing for people living with Long Covid through nature-based mindfulness and somatic practices.
Living with Long Covid and related chronic conditions such as ME/CFS often brings grief, loss, uncertainty, and profound shifts in daily life. These experiences can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves, our bodies, and the world around us. This retreat is designed to offer a safe, compassionate space where participants can explore skillful ways to restore balance, foster resilience, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and meaning.
Through mindfulness and somatic practices rooted in nature, you’ll be guided to cultivate awareness, reduce reactivity, and gently re-inhabit your body in ways that feel restorative. Practices will include guided nature meditations, breathwork, gentle movement, and reflective exercises—all designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re joining online or in person. Built-in rest breaks and modular segments ensure that those with limited energy or fluctuating health can participate at a sustainable pace.
The retreat will be guided by Dr. Rochelle Calvert, a licensed clinical psychologist, board-certified somatic experiencing practitioner, and founder of New Mindful Life. With over two decades of experience integrating psychology, mindfulness, and ecotherapy, she is an internationally recognized leader in nature-based mindfulness and trauma healing, and the author of Healing with Nature: Mindfulness and Somatic Practices to Heal from Trauma. Rochelle teaches internationally, offering trainings, retreats, and clinical programs that bring together scientific research and embodied, nature-centered practice. Her compassionate and evidence-informed approach supports participants in cultivating resilience, restoration, and a deeper connection with the Earth. Learn more at rochellecalvert.com. Joining Rochelle in co-leading this retreat is Nina Horne, MPP, CMT-P, a certified meditation teacher with over 30 years of practice and training in trauma-informed healing modalities, and more than four months in silent retreat.
