Get ready to soak up the sun and create your own nature-inspired art! In this hands-on workshop, youโll use a vibrant turmeric and rubbing alcohol mixture to make golden sun printsโsimilar to cyanotypes, but with an all-natural twist. Arrange leaves, flowers, or other found objects onto your coated paper, then let the sunlight work its magic. Weโll finish the process with a baking soda bath that brings your images to life. This is an easy, eco-friendly way to try printmaking with everyday materialsโand youโll leave with a one-of-a-kind piece of art with beautiful fall tones for the season! This event is perfect for curious creatives and nature lovers. Note: These sunny prints are beautifully delicate and may lighten over time.
Spaces are limited. Materials will be provided. Turmeric will stain, so wear clothing you won't mind getting messy! We will also walk outside around museum grounds for a little while to collect natural materials for sun printing.
