The outing on Saturday May 18 is first to meet at 10:30 at Shorebird Way (off Shoreline Blvd) to view the nesting herons and egrets. This event occurs every spring in the middle of Google offices where the egrets have chosen to raise their young. Google has accommodated the birds by closing off car traffic to the area while providing parking spots for cars. A short walk brings you to the area or you can listen for loud bird squawks. Bring a chair binoculars to comfortably watch the birds feeding their young.
Next we'll get back into our cars to drive further down Shoreline Blvd. to park in Shoreline Amphitheater's parking lot. From here we take the elevator up to the street level to another Google building. Now you walk to view amazing sculptures from past Burning Man exhibits. I'll provide maps to get there once I know how many people will attend. RSVP to [email protected].
Lunch is optional. Google has a great restaurant in this area where one can buy lunch or bring a bag lunch to eat indoors or on the patio.
The walk is all flat and on cement walkways.
