Eager to learn more about the world around you? Then join us at Polk's Nature Discovery Center for our 2025-2026 Nature Lecture Series!
From September 2025, through May 2026, Polk's Nature Discovery Center will be hosting a different lecture each month; highlighting an aspect of the natural world.
Join us as the Imperial Polk County Astronomical Society shares about the wonders in the night sky, how to observe them, and then follow us into the marsh for a short night hike.
This presentation will be held in Polk's Nature Discovery Center's Workshop from 6:00pm-6:45pm with time for questions and answers to follow. Immediately following the presentation, a guided night hike (with potential star gazing) will take place down Heron Hideout Trail (approximately 0.6 miles to the workshop and back).

Who should sign up for this? For learners of all ages.
Tickets & Sign-Ups: Tickets are not required, but recommended. Signing up will allow us to know the number of participants planning to attend. If spots are available on the day of the event, spots may be open for other visitors.
1 ticket is needed per person. 1 ticket = 1 person
Additional Information for those Attending:
- Please be sure to bring a flashlight as the parking lot may be dark.
- For those planning to attend the guided night hike portion, dress to be outdoors and appropriate for current weather conditions. Close-toed shoes and long pants are recommended.
