About this Event
This workshop is designed to combine the therapeutic effects of nature, mindfulness, and creative expression with the deep relaxation provided by a log-fired sauna. Participants will leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and more connected to themselves and the natural world.
The day will include:
OPENING CIRCLE
- Participants will be welcomed with a warm drink, introductions and setting intentions for the day.
MINDFUL WOODLAND WALK
- A slow, meditative walk through the forest focussing on sensory awareness: noticing sights, sounds, and smells of the forest.
- Pausing at selected spots to reflect and take notes/sketch in your journal.
CREATIVE NATURE JOURNALING
- Prompts are provided to inspire writing, drawing, or sketching based on the forest walk.
- Emphasis on capturing feelings, thoughts, and observations from the forest experience.
SAUNA & RELAXATION (optional)
- Participants can enjoy a log-fired sauna session in a secluded area next to the studio.
- The sauna experience is alternated with periods of cooling down, either in nature or with a cold shower.
- Time for reflection, silence, and soaking in the benefits of the sauna.
CLOSING CIRCLE
- A final journaling session to capture insights and reflections from the day.
- Group sharing of experiences, thoughts, and creative expressions.
- Closing circle to reflect on the day’s journey and set intentions for future practice.
Participants will be provided with a new journal. Basic art supplies will be provided.
For comfort please wear suitable clothing for walking, journaling, and sauna use.
Refreshments are included.
