Join UC’s Dr. Denis Conover for an exploration of the habitats/plants of Burnet Woods! Dr. Conover shares information on identifying the over-100 species of trees documented in Burnet Woods, native v. non-native plants, the impact of invasive species, and more. Come see what the woods have to offer this week!Meet outside Trailside Nature Center (the Ludlow/Jefferson Ave entrance is recommended if parking). Free. Hike is usually less than 2 miles but of moderate to difficult intensity, both on and off trails. No bikes. Dogs must be leashed, calm and non-reactive to humans or other dogs. Note: Dr. Conover usually arrives right at 2:30PM and the group leaves for the hike within a few minutes after that. Latecomers may have difficulty locating the hike as the route varies.
Please have a mask available. While the hike is outside, sometimes gathering more closely to look at plant specimens occurs, or group dynamics may warrant the courtesy. We want everyone engaging in our hikes to be safe and healthy
