Have you ever wondered how old that tree is in your yard? At your favorite park? Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Kathie Bowers will lead us on a nature walk at Charleston Falls Preserve where you will learn to estimate the age of living trees (no trees will be harming in the process). Besides walking in the forest, we will also visit the prairie ecosystems to see the late summer/fall native plants blooming where you will get some ideas on how to integrate this important fall food source into your yard or favorite pollinator garden. Of course, we will visit the falls (hope for some rain a few days before). Trail Description: Trail is well prepared with a small rock / gravel surface. Note that probably 80% of this trail system is mostly flat but there will be a couple of places where we will be hiking up/down a couple of hills. Fortunately, the trails at his park are well designed so it is not overwhelming. While there are over three miles of trails, we will probably walk 1.5 to 2 miles of them.
